Brothers Meats

Established in 1951, the Original Brothers Meats is a family run business that has been a Halifax tradition for over 50 years. The ‘Old World’ recipes were brought to Halifax from Poland by Maximillian Kielbratowski for all Canadians and visitors to enjoy. His legacy lives on through his family who has continued to perfect the art of true Nova Scotia maple hardwood smoking.

Java Blend

Java Blend Coffee is a small, locally owned artisanal roastery. Devoted to quality, committed to sustainability, and dedicated to building community through coffee, they support some of the finest small farmers in the world through their participation in the Fair Trade Certified Coffee program.

Knoydart farm cheese

The dairy farm belonging to Frazer and Angela Hunter and looks over the ruggedly beautiful coastline of the Northumberland Strait. It’s a long way from the Scottish lowlands that Frazer grew up in or the north of England near Hadrian’s Wall that Angela was used to, but the two of them look to be perfectly at home here. In 1998 they decided to take the plunge and bought the dairy farm in Knoydart. They wanted to both be full-time farmers again. To the dairy they added beef and lamb production and they transitioned to organic. The cheese making facility was added in 2009.

Pam’s Fine Foods

Pam’s Fine Foods is a local business that was established in 2000 as a small catering business providing Lebanese cuisine to customers in the HRM.  Pam’s Fine Foods is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia and run by Pamela McPherson. Pam’s employs 1 full-time and 1 part-time employee. Pam’s provides a wide range of products such as fatayir, falafel, baklawa, grape leaves, kibbi and tabouli just to name a few. Pam’s supplies the local Halifax farmer’s market and Pete’s as well as private catering functions.  Pam’s mission is to continually provide the highest quality product to her customers by continually selecting the finest ingredients available.

Staff of Life Bakery

Since 1977 when started by a local couple as a small family bakery, Staff of Life has been known as a company who prides themselves on the quality of their products. With decades of experience making healthy, all natural, quality products such as their line of breads and samosas, Staff Of Life Healthfood is committed to using only the best ingredients in all of their products.
