Meet Cassie Campbell, our Meat & Fish Department Manager in #Halifax! Cassie is a Red Seal Chef, and today she tells us more about her passion for food, life and the way she spends her time off.

What does a typical work day look like for you? A typical day for me is full of innovating – our newly created Turkey Stuffing Meatballs are a must-try – fighting fires and cutting meat.

Favourite local product we carry at Pete’s Fine Foods? My favourite product is the authentic Tunisian Harissa we carry. This hot chili paste made from roasted red peppers is so amazing in marinades, and sauces.

Favourite movie? Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

How do you like to spend your days off? Dinner parties with friends and movies with my husband.

What would people be most surprised to learn about your department? Our knowledgeable and incredibly helpful staff, our new and exciting products that we introduce all the time. I’m really excited about the direction the meat and seafood department is going: getting more exotic game meats in, carrying more British products and choosing sustainable fish when it is available.

Favourite local spot to grab a drink or bite to eat? Lion and Bright (on Agricola St.)

What would your theme song be? Killer Queen by Queen

Favourite product in your department? Korean BBQ sauce Short ribs (cut flanken style, cut across the bone in thin strips)

If you could have a dinner party and invite 3 people, dead or alive, who would be on the guest list? Anthony Bourdain, Marco Pierre White and Maynard James Keenan
