Nature’s finest, carefully grown and specially selected.
With the growing demand from our consumers for choice when selecting the foods they consume, organically grown produce has become increasingly popular. This has allowed us to increase the variety of products we offer in our produce department on a year round basis, and our ‘Organic Select’ produce is carried at all Pete’s locations.
People comment that organic produce has more flavour. However, organic produce often spoils quicker because there is no use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or preservatives that extend shelf life.
Why is organic food more expensive?
The cultivation process is more laborious and products often have a shorter shelf-life, leading to higher prices in many organic foods.
