Leo's Donair Wontons

INGREDIENTS:
• 1 pkg. of wonton wrappers
• ½ lb. lean ground beef
• 1 tbsp. olive oil
• ½ medium Spanish onion
• 1 tbsp. Leo’s Donair Spice + 1 tsp. for finishing
• 2 cups canola oil

INSTRUCTIONS:
Heat a non-stick pan with olive oil. Once heated, add ground beef. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, break the meat into small pieces. Once browned, drain any excess grease from your pan. Return to heat and add 1 tbsp. of Leo’s Donair Spice and onion. Saute for 1-2 minutes to combine. Remove from heat and set aside.

Place wonton wrapper on a flat surface and cut in half diagonally (each wrapper will make two wontons). Add ½ tbsp of the ground beef filling to the center of the wrapper and brush the entire edge with water. Bring the two opposite corners together in the middle of the wonton and pinch. Repeat with the other two corners and pinch to
form a package shape.

In a deep fryer or a deep pot on the stove top, heat oil to 375°F. Carefully place wontons in the oil, frying for 1 minute per side or until golden brown. Once removed from the oil, sprinkle the wontons with the remaining donair spice.

Serve hot with donair sauce on the side!
